BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS!!!  

Dear parents,

Birthdays are always a special time for the children.  For your child's birthday, we do a "birthday walk" in class.  For this, we need a picture for each birthday the child has celebrated, starting from birth to present.  These need to be clear enough for the children to see when seated in a circle.  You are more than welcome to participate in this event, which usually takes place before 10 am.

You could also choose to provide a cake or snack for all the children on that day.  We request that food items have no nuts and as little icing and sugar as possible.  You should also provide disposable plates, forks and napkins with the snack.  If we use any items from the school, we request that you replace them at your earliest convenience.

If you choose to do goody bags, please help to keep them simple.  No balloons or hard candy should be included in these bags.  All the children should get the same goody bag, which will be placed in their cubby holes for them to take home.

We have a special request when sending out invitations for personal parties.  The teachers will be glad to put the invitations in the folders, provided all children receive them.  If you are selective in sending invitations, we request you to obtain the addresses of those children directly from their parents, and make arrangements to send them out personally.  This saves us the trouble of explaining to the children why some were not included.  We appreciate your co-operation in this matter.
