Chinese New Year celebration
The children came dressed in their ethnic clothes to usher in the year of the ox. They started the morning by singing "gong xi fa cai" to their friends and teachers, and sat back and watched a special lion dance put up by our very own Buttercups children. The children skillfully maneuvered the lion according to the beat of the drums as they were cheered on by their friends. One lion even managed to peel the skin off the Mandarin oranges, and was rewarded with a big "ang pao". The children had a go at the traditional "lo hei", and took part in various activities including food tasting, and chinese art and crafts throughout the morning. What a great way to welcome the new year!
