Curriculum

Buttercups Playschool offers various types of meaningful programs for children from 1 – 3 years old.  The Playschool is only available at Rochester Mall branch.

1. Montessori Playgroup (12 months to 24 months, accompanied) - Our playgroup provides a prepared environment where the children are free to respond to their natural tendency of work in a peaceful and orderly environment, and through this work, they develop concentration, independence, self-confidence, and self-discipline. All the activities and surroundings are adapted to your child’s size and interest, and materials are set out in an orderly manner, enabling the children to locate the desired activity easily, helping him/her to gain sense of security for the environment. 

The playgroup is offered every day from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm, and 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  It is offered in English on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and in Mandarin on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

2. Montessori Starters (18 months to 3 years, drop-off) - This program is available to children who are 18 months and above, and have preferable enrolled in the above accompanied program for at least one term. The basic program is 2 1/2 hours long, and is offered with either English or Mandarin as the main medium of instructions.  The comprehensive curriculum allows your children to become more independent and confident as they refine their fine motor skills and develop longer concentration span by working through the Montessori activities prepared especially for their developmental levels and abilities. 

Children who have settled well in this class have the option of signing up for an additional hour of enrichment class in either English or Mandarin.
